We are just about ready to publish Cyclops - Resurrection. Here is the final mix that will go to iTunes, Rhapsody, Etc.
Hard rockin’ originals from the days of long hair, spandex and platform shoes. Now with even more cowbell and a touch of Spinal Tap! Cyclops - Resurrection Recorded in 1979 - Available summer of 2008.
Here is the new mix of Lonely Doggs. This mix includes a new guitar lead. Also worked with compression to soften the peaks on the keyboard lead. A bit of EQ to punch up the bass & drums. . . And finally put through a Maximizer.
I just got back from Saxon Recording Studios with our restored master tapes. Dave Anderson at Saxon is awesome. He was singing Ride My Coattails when I arrived. Dave went above and beyond in meticulously bringing every track back to life. Here is the list of songs we have:
Whispers
Right Now
Never Thought
Lonely Doggs
Preacher
Ride My Coattails
Serena
Talk of the Archways
I had a hard time pulling myself away from this studio. Vintage Guitars, Vintage Mics, Vintage Tube Amps - I was in my glory (Rumor has it that Dave heats the studio entirely on Vacuum Tubes). This brought me back to when we recorded the original “Whispers” session with the late great Johnny Leone at Studio 21 - NYC. That was the National Lampoon Studio. I remember we had to wait for our session because they were mixing a scene from a new moving they were making. “You can’t take the car - Fred wrote the mileage down.” Over & Over & Over . . . The movie was eventually released. It was called Animal . . .something I think . Anyway - Thanks again Dave for raising Cyclops from the dead. JJW
